Part 3
The Ark of the Covenant
Though seldom considered, the weight of the Ark of the
Covenant is considered by most experts to be between 6000 and 8000 pounds.
Leviticus
16:2
And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at
all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is
upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the
cloud upon
the mercy seat.
Numbers
7:89
And when Moses was gone into the
tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one
speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony,
from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.
Psalms
80:1
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest
between the
Joshua
3:15
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests
that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth
all his banks all the time of harvest,)
16
That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very
far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward
the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the
people passed over right against Jericho.
17
And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry
ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground,
until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
1 Samuel
5:11
So they sent and gathered
together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the
God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and
our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand
of God was very heavy there.
6:6
And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the
ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
7
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for
his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
The Rod Of
Moses
Exodus
4:17
And thou shalt take this rod in
thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
7:20
And Moses and Aaron did so, as
the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in
the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all
the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
8:15
And the LORD spake unto Moses,
Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the
rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
8:16
And the LORD said unto Moses, Say
unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may
become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; for Aaron
stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it
became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice
throughout all the land of Egypt.
9:23
And Moses stretched forth his rod
toward heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon
the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24
So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there
was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
10:13
And Moses stretched forth his rod
over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that
day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the
locusts
14:16
But lift thou up thy rod, and
stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel
shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Numbers
20:8
Take the rod, and gather thou the
assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock
before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth
to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their
beasts drink
20:11
And Moses lifted up his hand, and
with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the
congregation drank, and their beasts also.

Judges
13:20
For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar,
that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar.

26:9
He holdeth back the face of his
throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
