Sons and Daughters of God
John 1: 12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his
God, and he shall be my son.
huios, pronounced hwee-os'; a "son" (sometimes of animals), used very widely of
immediate, remote or figuratively, kinship:
Acts 17: 28. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also
of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29. Forasmuch then
as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like
unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
Romans 8: 14. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God. 15. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16. The
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if
so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18. For I
reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared
with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19. For the earnest expectation of
the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for
what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
I John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we
should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it
knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him;
for we shall see him as he is.
Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without
rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as
lights in the world;
Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the
adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of
his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.7 Wherefore thou art no more a
servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
